Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive in Nairobi, where the dynamic energy of the city embraces you. Settle into your accommodations at the Trademark Hotel, a luxurious and modern hotel offering exceptional service and comfort. Situated just outside the city center, the hotel combines contemporary elegance with warm Kenyan hospitality. Enjoy the stunning views of Nairobi's skyline, indulge in world-class dining, and unwind in the stylish surroundings. Day 2: Karura Forest and Nairobi Highlights
Start your journey with a leisurely ride through the tranquil Karura Forest (15K), an urban oasis teeming with lush greenery, peaceful streams, and wildlife. It’s the perfect introduction to Kenya's natural beauty. Afterward, visit the Giraffe Centre, where you’ll have the chance to feed and learn about the endangered Rothschild giraffes. A stop at the Nairobi Museum will deepen your connection to Kenya’s rich history, with exhibits that explore the country's fascinating cultural and natural heritage. Day 4: Mount Kenya's Sirimon Gate and Lake Ellis
For the more adventurous, Day 4 presents an opportunity to ride from Sirimon Gate to Shipton’s Camp, where the majestic Mount Kenya looms large. Those seeking a challenge can choose to summit Lenana Peak under the stars at midnight, an experience that rewards with panoramic views from the second-highest peak in Kenya. After the ascent, descend to the serene shores of Lake Ellis, a quiet alpine lake surrounded by dense forest. Cycle on to Chogoria and transfer to the Samburu Game Reserve, where you’ll spend the night at Samburu Lodge, nestled along the Ewaso Ng'iro River.
Day 5: Game Drives and Wildlife Encounters
Day 5 is dedicated to game drives through the Samburu Game Reserve, where you’ll spot rare wildlife such as Grevy’s zebras, Somali ostriches, and the elusive leopard. Day 7: Hell’s Gate National Park & Lake Naivasha
Today, cycle the Buffalo Circuit (16K) in Hell’s Gate National Park, where dramatic cliffs and geothermal springs create a truly unique landscape. The park is named for its heat-induced vents, which release steam and make for an otherworldly atmosphere. After your ride, indulge in a relaxing soak in the geothermal spa, a truly rejuvenating experience. Later, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you’ll spot hippos lazily drifting through the waters and birds such as the African fish eagle fishing for their next meal. Return to Sawela Lodge for dinner and another peaceful overnight stay.
Day 8: Loita Hills to Masai Mara
After a morning ride through the stunning Loita Hills, you’ll make your way to the Masai Mara, one of the world’s most famous safari destinations. The ride (20-30K) will take you through the rolling hills and savannahs, with spectacular views that unfold with every turn. Upon arrival, you’ll settle into Sopa Lodge, where you can enjoy unparalleled views of the Mara plains and relax in style before the excitement of the next day.
Day 9: Full-Day Game Drives in Masai Mara
Day 9 is dedicated to a full day of game drives through the Masai Mara, where you’ll encounter the legendary wildlife that makes this park so famous. From elephants to lions, cheetahs to wildebeests, the Mara offers incredible opportunities to witness Africa’s big cats and herbivores in their natural habitat. The vastness of the Mara’s open plains, combined with its vibrant wildlife, creates an unforgettable experience. Day 10: Return to Nairobi
On your final day, return to Nairobi for some leisurely shopping in the city’s bustling markets, where you can pick up unique souvenirs and handmade crafts. Enjoy lunch before your evening flight home, leaving Kenya with a heart full of unforgettable experiences and a sense of adventure that will stay with you long after you’ve pedaled away.
